We take a look at the Xbox 360
Major features of the Xbox 360 are the integrated Xbox Live service which allows users to compete online in real time, download arcade games, game demos, trailers, television programmes and films, and the Windows Media Centre multimedia capabilities. The Xbox 360 also offers region-specific access to third party media streaming services such as Sky TV and BT Vision in the United Kingdom. Officially unveiled in 2005 the console sold out completely in all regions apart from Japan immediately and latest sales figures show that as of the end of October 2009, almost 34 million units had been sold. The Xbox 360 is currently available in two configurations: the “Arcade” and the “Elite”, each with its own range of accessories. The Xbox 360 is of course available from the official Xbox website but is widely available from gaming and electrical stores. You can find them on sale in many High Street department shops and online from outlets such as Amazon. Prices start at £149.99 for a bundle including the console, software and a good selection of games.
