Make your wedding proposal special
Now we don't want to scare anyone too much, but a proposal is one of the most momentous occasions of your life! This is a story that will be re-told over and over, hopefully to your grandchildren too. We've compiled some of our favourite ideas for proposing, from the romantic to the quirky. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all proposal. The way in which you propose should depend mainly on your partner's personality, so you should keep their preferences in mind when you plan the big occasion. Public displays of affection Put the question on a billboard at a sporting occasion that you're attending with your boy or girlfriend. Use a sky-writer if cash is no problem. Or ask her at a special occasion, in front of family and friends. These types of public proposals should carry a serious health warning - only go down this road if you've discussed the idea of marriage before or if you're very sure of the answer, or you could be in for some serious embarrassment! Simple and romantic For those of you who shy away from such public displays, a thoughtful and romantic proposal is the way to go. Take him or her back to where you had your first date, or your first kiss. Climb to the top of a mountain together and pop the question at sunrise. Bring your partner away to a romantic destination, like Paris and ask him or her at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Save your proposal for a special day, like Valentine's Day or on his or her birthday. Quirky proposals Is your other half an adrenaline junkie? Then you could propose mid-air, during a parachute jump, or underwater, while you're scuba-diving. Have someone else pop the question, such as the pilot on the flight you're on together. Or send in a request to her favourite radio station and have them ask him or her and play a favourite song. We hope that we've provided some inspiration for your ideal proposal. Now you just have to work up the courage!
